How about side-by-side track-record runs in Las Vegas! Jack Beckman
grabs the E.T. mark for The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway while
Courtney Force resets the speed record with her 326.08-mph pass in the
other lane. Force's E.T. is 3.928, and that puts her second in the order
behind Beckman at the Denso Spark Plugs NHRA Nationals.
"It's
nice to come back from a struggling run. First run, I think we were
trying to rotate Las Vegas over to the Pacific Ocean, and the track
didn't hold it," said Beckman, who smoked the tires in Q1. "I don't know
if that will hold. We have all day tomorrow, but now we know we have a
hot rod with this Mopar."
